Paste takes a cue from Radiohead

Paste has announced that it will allow subscribers to name their own price for an annual subscription, echoing what Radiohead has just done for its latest album, In Rainbows. This is pretty awesomely radical.

sondre lerche + regina spektor

i TOTALLY saw sondre lerche at the regina spektor show at the hammerstein ballroom.

so i'm sitting there in my seat in the balcony, patiently waiting for ms spektor to take the stage, when a fellow & a lady walk past me down the aisle to a roped off section, reserved for the fortunate few - they had 'all access' stickers attached to their pants. the fellow looked incredibly like mr lerche, but i was like 'eh, theres no way thats him. even if he was here, he wouldnt be sitting up here with us!!' so then tonite, i find out that regina appears in a duet on lerche's new album! it was totally him!

i just read off sondre's blog: "Now I'm off to catch the totally awesome Regina Spektor in concert. As some of you may already know, Regina was kind enough to lend her fabulous talents to one of the songs I wrote for the Dan In Real Life soundtrack, "Hell No". She really made my week that week and if for some odd reason you haven't heard any of her stuff, you are simply mad and should approach yourself with caution." [sondrelerche.com]

if only i had talked to him...

so starstruck, but after the fact..

here's some music to get you through the nite.

regina spektor - the ghost of corporate future
sondre lerche - sleep on needles

OLPC to sell laptops to me, you, and everyone we know

The One Laptop Per Child [olpc] project is now allowing anyone to buy a laptop for $399, thus covering the cost of a 2nd laptop that will go to a child in a developing country. They have done so amidst a disappointing lack of orders from governments, who previously were the only ones able to place orders. As an added bonus, the second laptop will be tax-deductible.
